Running Kaki

Hello can anyone be my running kaki? I'm seriously bored to death when i train alone. Dun worry i dun swim, bike, run that fast.

Prob i shall list down the criteria...
1) Must know where is a good spot to run preferably with alot of pretty girls in the vicinity
2) If you're good at cracking jokes so the training wun be so mundane
3) Best still if you yourself is a pretty babe or babes with long smooth slender legs and dangerously curvy figure

So that i can run hard and push myself to hit a PB every run..haha

i got 8 modules worth 24 academic units. Save me!
3月2日

so many events!!!

Yesterday was Surf & Sweat. Haha i don't know why i never join so don't ask me k? But i go there purely just to pace jon for his run. He's aiming for top 3 la so i had to be focus and not ogle at the babes there. Its really not easy u know, its a tough fight between my mind and my eyes!

He did a good run time of bout 25mins for 5k + after the surf. Came in 3rd, not me la. 1st prize is a speedo watch. Ooh didnt know speedo also have watches nowadays!

So as the title says, there really alot of events coming up and the best thing is all after exams!

I wanna join Tribob Sprint Series. Its good though but too pricey so i shall opt for trifactor. check out the website, www.trifactor.sg! So excited bout it cos the run is at Choa Chu Kang. Hmmm prob they gonna ask us to run to Lim Chu Kang? Haha But i gonna join all 4 events, swim, bike, run and triathlon! So now its time to train but i'm down with the damn flu again. Urgh 2nd time in 2 months, something must be wrong!

Ok start training guys and train hard, train well =)
2月9日

so far...

Hello!

Yeah i ran 5k in the morning. Now i am down with FLU!

Sucks. Actually i have calculated, its about 9.5km to school!

So if i run to school i can do that under an hour, even faster than if i take public transport. Hmmm so now all i need to do is to train harder so i can complete the run in 40mins? ha that's fast!

Prob the only bad thing bout running to school is no babes or OL to see in the morning and only loads of trucks and army personnel along Jalan Bahar and Lim Chu Kang stretch. Wad a bore!

needa plan my barang barang also.

k k gotta slp!so far..

Vertical Marathon UPDATES!

Ok. Sad.

Let me announce my timing. 9mins 35s on MY watch.

Ok so this time round i did faster than Swissotel Vertical Marathon. Considering the fact the Swissotel have 1336 steps and i took 9mins 47s and Republic Plaza have 1380 and i took 9mins 35s!! So if u do the math and if my pace was the same as Swissotel, i would have completed Republic plaza in 10mins 6.3s. In other words, i improved by 31s!!

On this context it looks good la, but damn, i'm not in the top 10. Sharx.

They should have babes every level and as it goes higher the babes should be wearing lesser n lesser........and for sure i can break the record!

Only in my dreams. Well no regrets, perhaps i should start training earlier. Suck thumb!

Oh yeah, the Emcee today was gorgeous.

K, live to fight another day.
2月6日

I wanna start training!!

Ok NTU Vertical Marathon is coming up real real soon.

Now i am dead serious. I will TRY to wake up at 6am, do an hour long run, bathe and go school. And train again in the evening. Must Sleep by 11:30PM!

I wanna COME BACK!!!!!

I wanna SWIM, BIKE, RUN.

Actions will speak louder!

I will:
1) Spend lesser time checking out on girls
2) Really be much much more discipline.
3) Plan my time real well
4) Pay more attention in class so i will spend lesser time figuring out those theories!
5) Train harder.

Sin Sin Sin!

Sinful. Its totally sinful!

Guess what? I reach home at 12am and, guess guess, i ate............10 pineapple tarts man!!!! + + + 1 almond cookie!!!!

Gosh its a sin. TEN fu*kin TEN pineapple tarts, the amount of saturated fats and calories and sugar and sodium intake. Oh i can feel it now. I can feel the fats forming up on my blood vessels to my capillary tube to veins, clogging up my colon, reducing the surface area. OOOoh GOSH! Then the pancreas will have to release insulin to break down the sugar into glucose at such a late time at night!!! And my liver working harder, kidney filtering all the stuff, gosh i can feel that my organs are tired!!! They need a BREAK!!! No this shouldnt be happening!!!!! ARGHHH!

Er ok.

And i haven't been climbing stairs for 2 days! Yes 2 days!!!!!

I'm gonna climb stairs tomorrow and stop all the sinful acts of mine!!!

For those who wants to slim down

It ain't that difficult right?

Now firstly, diet is extremely important. Meaning to say no fast food, no processed food, no high carbo intake, no deep fried etc.

Strictly speaking, hams and luncheon meat are a no no cos they are processed food! And for your info fast food is as deadly or worse than smoking. Why? Cos of the reactions of the carbo when they are being deep fried. Well i don't exactly know the term but it can be cancerous, yes! (Eat more cucumbers or tomatoes or cranberries since they are anti-carcinogenic, which means lower chances of getting cancer)

And you cannot do without absolutely ZERO carbo too. It will result in some negative outcome for your body which again i am not sure of the term but just follow will do.

So what do i recommend if you wan to slim down and have a flat tummy? Easy, at least for my case.

First thing in the morning you SHOULD NOT skip breakfast! Eat some fruits that are not too acidic, for example, kiwi, grapes, apples etc before food. Then take a serving of oatmeal with raisins. When i say oatmeal i meant those rolled oatmeal that has got no taste at all. So you can choose to add some raisins or honey. Half boil egg as well. So some may say will it raise your cholesterol level? No. I eat it everyday and i am still alive and kicking and typing this out to you guys. Only deep fried eye will increase your cholesterol level!

Lunch probably you can eat almost anything but depends on your activity later in the day. If you don't plan to exercise then just take a normal meal. Do note that an average plate of economy rice with 2 veg and 1 meat will be about 700 KCal. Average male has a metabolism rate of 1500-1800 KCal per day and female bout 900 - 1100 KCal. So what is metabolism rate? It means the ability of your body to burn off those amount of calories even if you are sitting down on the chair 24hrs a day.

So what defines your metabolism rate? Well to put in bluntly, the more muscle mass you have the higher the metabolism rate. Meaning to say body builder will have a higher metabolism rate of say 1800-2000 KCal as compared to an obese male who probably will have a 1200-1300 KCal. So how to increase your metabolism rate? By exercising, doing static exercise like push up, sit up or head down to the gym and build up your core muscle. Higher the metabolism rate, lesser the chance of you getting overweight!

As for dinner, do not over eat. Fruits will be good but not eating fruits late in the night!

If you do want to lose weight, easy. Instead of running on a flat ground, try running slope. Instead of just purely running 4km or 5km, try running 10 sets of 400m or 10 sets or 500m or 4 sets of 1km. Its pretty much up to you. But when dealing with sets, you must run at a faster pace, say 1min 30s for 400m depending on your fitness level. And resting the amount of time u take to run and repeat the set again. This will in turn burn more fats and will still continue to burn after you stop exercising.

For me, i keep to strictly 3 meals a day, lower my carbo intake and running just 2.4km in the morning and at night and within 1 week i lose 3.5kg! Even though i am already skinny. By the way i'm only 61kg, 1.73m.

Its definitely not comprehensive enough but should you have any question do leave a comment =)

PS: Ada altho i dunno you but if you are reading this, stop eating deep fried food and more fruits should kick in. You should also have a healthy diet (doesnt mean skipping meal), healthy regime and enough rest. Bear in mind cancerous cells are already in our body just like a time bomb waiting to be activated. Hope it will help you a great deal =)

Story Telling Time

First and foremost i'm gonna share with you (if ever there exist a YOU reading this pls reply ya?) this story of mine.

For people who have doubts in yourself in whatever things that you feel like attempting or thought of attempting or when you are attempting, please get rid of that thought immediately. Why?

Here it goes....(pls just read it continously and don't pause for the first time, you'll know why)

I graduated with a PSLE score of 191 and some might see that PSLE score doesnt really reflect much about our intelligence or should i say ability to understand and comprehend. In fact when we are at a tender age of 3-4 years old (if my memory did not fail me), our brain are already starting to form and creating space for learning and understanding. In fact there are more neurons, which process and transmit information, in an infant's brain than adult's brain. But why is it that others can do better than the rest, which in this case let's just talk bout studies.

Initially i also do not understand why. Why do others score straight As and not me, despite the fact i studied so hard? For the sake of this argument, i draw conclusions from arguing with myself. Probably they eat super food like OMEGA 3 & 6 which contains brain food like DHA and EPA, or they know they art of studying, like mind mapping or speed reading, which seems so distant from me. And i came to realise that no one is stupid actually. I mean there are people who are born with lower IQ but still if they can draw or they have certain talent like pottery or singing, you cant say that they are stupid right unless you really strictly define stupidity as being able to score more As and perhaps to the extent of attaining a PhD?

Genius is someone who has done his homework. When i was in army, it dawn upon me that uni is my last stretch. Make or break. How to make sure i do well? How? I strongly believe that if i want it i can. I began searching for tools to help me improve my abilities in studying and understanding. The concept or theory or logic applies to almost everywhere. For example running, which i will share more in my next entry.

Thus i went to borders, library and look up on books on how to score in exams, besides cheating. I later found out that mindmap and speed reading, if apply appropriately correctly, yields impressive results. I shall not dwell too much into the contents of mindmap and speed reading. But these tools are readily available to us but are we using them? I even go to the extend of reading up on nutrition for the brain! Yes and from the first day of school my breakfast has never change. Cereal and oatmeal with raisins, half boil egg, wholemeal bread and fruits.

No doubt all those are minor little things that might help but still it boils down to consistency as well. That is why last min dun usually work. You must also understand how your brain functions. As a general rule of thumb, your brain filters automatically when you input something. So how much can be retain in your brain is dependent on how much you have train your brain for memory retention. For example, you have been reading up to this point but how much do you remember if you read it once and continously and never browse back or pause?

Do you still remember what is my PSLE score? Or how do i define genius? Or what is the food i had for breakfast? This goes to show how much your brain filter and retain in the brain.

So what am i driving at? Just purely reading will not help much. You need the aid of colours, pictures, or even animation to enchance your memory. And by reading it once, it probably stay in your memory for 30mins, twice and you got it inside for couple of hours. But if you keep doing the same thing over and over again, the short term memory will become long term and thus it will be in your sub conscious mind such that you do not need to strain your brain and the info will just come to you. Just like how u tie your shoe lace, how you brush your teeth etc. Get my point?

Also it depends on your belief and desire. Before i continue, i would like to ask you a question. If you are given 10 points, how would you separate it between Goals and Methods. Meaning to say it can be 10 - 0, 5 - 5, 8 -2 etc.

Well let me share with you. In fact, it should be 10 for goals and 0 for method. Why? For example, from your house you wanna go to orchard, you can either take a cab, train or bus or run or walk as long as you get to orchard, which is your goal. What i'm trying to say is that if you do not have a strong and clear desire on your goals, no matter what kind of method there is, you are bound to fail. Let me draw another analogy to you. If today you are studying but half heartedly, even though you have a Harvard Professor, or a MIT professor to guide you individually who can explain things in lay man terms to you, do you think you will do well? Do not forget if you are studying with a half hearted mentality.

There can be 101 methods available for you to help you get to where you want but ultimately if your goals are not clear and concise enough, no matter what methods that are readily available, you will not succeed. Get it?

So if a PSLE score of 191 and O level score of 13-15 can manage to score a Second Upper, you can do it too. (Please i not trying to brag about my 2nd upper. Its really no big deal serious. I am just purely sharing. There are tons of 1st class student out there)

Hope it helps. Please if ever anyone is reading, your comment is deeply appreciated =)

I'm too tired. Oh by the way, late night sleep affects your cognitive process or rather speed up process of aging in whatever place that can age, which in fact is all parts of our body!

Its been so long

Ok prob no one is reading my left-for-so-long-and-collecting-dust blog. But nonetheless i shall liven it up! Its quite impromtu actually.

After Tribob Tri, seriously speaking i haven been riding so there goes my cycling. And my bike rim is horrendously dented by jeremy who met with an accident in his first ride. Surprisingly my first accident came only 4 years after i first ride! Impressive isnt it?

So what have i been doing? Let's see.....

Training for Vertical Marathon. Well well i came in 8th for Swissotel Vertical Marathon. 73 Storeys. 9mins 47 secs. Good or bad? I really dunno. I was expecting to get top 3 but as i reach the 60th storey i know its fat hope. Then when i look back, ha, i did train but not enough definitely! And its 1 day before my materials exam!!! Which i got a B+ for it. Ha. LUCKY!

Studying. Not too bad! The thing is I scored pretty well for my tests but but but screwed it all up in exams except for 2 papers la. Altho luckily and fortunately i did manage to hit a 2nd Upper, but but but i know i can do better. Just need that little little bit more of effort and less that little little bit of carelessness!

That was last sem but now, guess what? Guess please guess......i got a hell 8 modules!!! Actually i wouldnt mind if its all maths and mechanics or physics related modules but pls for goodness sake not Electrical Circuit or some drawing shit.

But no matter how tough there's still people who do well. So if they can there's no reason why i cant? =) Yay!

In fact its a matter or how much you want it, how badly you want it and set your sights on it.

Ok i'm beginning to love fluid mechanics, Laplace Transform, And of course physics!

Let me briefly tell you my schedule. My classes start around 0930 and end around 1730 or 1830 the latest. By the time i reach home which takes me 1 hour, i will train for my vertical marathon which is coming up real soon in 3 weeks time!!! Eat, bathe, try to revise abit and try to really fall in deep sleep, which seems so difficult for me recently!

Kinda mundane huh.

Tribob Triathlon

i'm suppose to be happy after coming in 2nd right? But things took such a drastic turn.

I fractured my bone n out of action for 2 months or so? Sigh. There goes my Osim triathlon.

So my 2nd place prizes includes fractured metatarsal on my middle finger and my parents strong objection to sports! Cant believe it!

i'll see what i can do man. I'll still continue to train, come what may.

City Duathlon

Disappointed!

unfateful day

Mark this day, a very fateful day!

Having only 3 hours of sleep and even distrubed lauw from his sleep, we set off to coastal for a sunday ride with my eyes half open and the eye shit still lingers at the corner or my eye and my eye lid. Block my vision.

firstly i was drafting behind uncle wank. as usual i always draft one la. shiok ma. ha. Then on come 2 ang mohs riding furiously fast zooming past us! Woah! i steam l

Tempted and since my legs are still fresh, i decided to whack and draft behind them. cant be after 40km then i start to whack ma. i also not lance armstrong.

Wah just the initial burst to close the gap is already making me huff and puff! Aiyo i really feel old liao. But never mind, i endure and at the same time, i suck back all the sodium(which is my sweat) which is trickling down my nose to prevent any cramps ma. Economical way hor, no need powergel can get instant replenishment of sodium! ha. But as i cycled faster, i see more sodium dripping onto the tar road le, wah very wasted. Nvm, use it to cool the hot tar road. Ok that's really not very funny.

soon as i checked my speedometer, woah (eyes open big big!). 40km/h. I not saying i fast la cos its purely drafting behind someone ma. Then i try to shrink as much as possible and i felt the difference by shifting away from behind the rider in front of me. Wah i was thinking the guy in front is either got motor or is plain fast. He's taking all the headwind man.

But after some theoretical findings i have concluded if u wanna ride fast in front of the pack, open your mouth and suck in. Must suck le, Not just open. so its like your body got 1 hole, thus reduce your total surface area tts y can cycle with lesser resistance ma. correct or not. Clap la =)

Ok after that my legs jelly liao. Haiz then on our way back, i turn in too late from the road to the pedestrain pathway so end up i skid and did some breakdance on the concrete ground. Now my beautiful hands are filled with all the manly scars. That's not the worse thing cos my face is already worse than that so i'm not that bothered by it.

city duathlon is just 4 days away! How Now Cow Wow bow. Suck thumb either rub salt or waterproof my wounded area.

Come to think of it its quite lucky. Imagine instead of my hand, its my face that grind the concrete ground, i think the ground will need a facelift! Poor ground

This is bad...

After suffering a defeat at Tribob Duathlon by just a mere 5 seconds to third placing, i felt like the biggest loser in this small world. Especially so after i miss my IPPT gold timing by 1 second to 9:14. Of course revenge is sweet and my second test puts me just 2 seconds ahead of the cut off time.

So now i know where i stand, not as good and still as bad. 30km/h isn't enough to put me on the podium. Well of course, its not all about winning. Actually i'm perfectly alright with losing. It gives me an insight of how minor little details can affect something on a big scale. Honestly speaking i enjoyed the process of the competition, especially the Duathlon. Its kinda intense and competitive. Probably due to the fact that Teekay came back within the top 3.

As i said, revenge is sweet. I'm gonna come back for the triathlon, hopefully. Haha. Sound too serious man.

Anyway had a run with chief and co. from Great World City to Kallang and back. It was hell man. I really don't know what the hell has happen to me. I can't run fast neither can i last long. This is so damn bad. Legs are aching. Or maybe my lactic threshold had dropped! Can't be the environment man. I was running along the Singapore river, winding past Clarke Quay and Raffles place and Esplanade, such a scenic run and yet i was huffing an puffing throughout.

Haha. And guess what? My aim is to complete the SCSM 08 in under 4 hours. For now i know its gonna be fat hope. Its still not too late to start training!!

I'm gettin old you know? Even before i hit my 10km mark i was beginning to feel the ache at my power back. I felt like i was a 50 year old man running. But but but, i saw some 50 odd years man running better and faster than me man! Ho seh liao. Its time for me to retire. Aiyo. Here ache there ache. Sometimes i wonder why i put in so much in army. Now cant deny the fact that i'm getting old.

Ops Knead for Spit & Tribob Duathlon

Our Ops Knead for Spit kick start with a few hiccups here and there but of course its being deal in a very positive outlook.

Received a call from the my Chief regarding our very first ops.

Ops Tiara.
Went off well but suffered a late defeat which result in my read wheel being punctured. Had it sorted out at Swiss Valley and costs me 10 bucks.

Ops Coastal dan Ulu Siglap
Ah ah sial. *haha*  Its a 45km ride. Firstly we were being escorted by more or less 20 Ferraris, all models and designs, on the road my friend. You think its a road show? Its ops my friend. Think road show also dun have so many Ferraris. Bonus *Our convoy of 4 managed to draft behind a few Ferraris* before we break off from them.
Why, sound too good to be true? Aiya cos traffic light ma, that's why we can dash past red lights. Someone ask me how does it feel be at the starting line with the Ferraris and manage to accelerate ahead of them and maintained the lead for........1 second. You think le?

Bryan pulled off a dangerous stunt by tailgating a SBS bus. For his bravery and courageous act during the Ops Coastal dan Ulu Siglap, he was awarded Medal of Valour. 52km/h on a steel bike of 10 speed *stunned*

End of the ops leave me extremely dehydrated.

Ops Coastal ke Hendon
Just off form. Really question mark all over my head man! 30km/h and i was struggling and panting. I then asked Chief to shift to the front and draft him. Of course it was much easier and nonetheless, i chao keng all the way. 20km mileage.

Tribob
Was absolutely psyched up for the race! Cant sleep thruout the night man. ANwyay all the caterpillars from my tummy turned into butterflies. So disturbing. Pumped my bike and off to the registration, Guess what? The chief's tyre suffered a punctured! The expresion on his face is priceless and really, if you send it for some photo competition, sure turns out to be 1st.

Luckily Bang for spare tube. Teekay was fast. 12mins into the run and he was back but i was sort of like struggling with the heat and the slopes man. Firstly the turning point is at such a tight angle. This really requires someone with good handling, agility and maneouvering skills. Nuff said. Straight after the turn is upslope. Meaning you start the ride uphill from zero. This again requires someone with nerves of steel and thighs of a thunder thigh........
Actually i wanna hiong to bring my mp3 with a speaker at the saddle pouch but alas, they say no headphones initially but end up they smart, say no mp3. So what to do i can only suck thumb and try to be a Zen in disguise and play the music in my mind. It ain't easy to attain this feat.
No one to draft so i'm on my own. Into my 2nd lap i saw Chief! To my astonishment (feel as though i'm writing primary school compo, use those kind of words), Chief tidak air minumun. Ah ah sial. Weather panas. I display my skills by doing the Tour de Seletar stunt and pass him my botol of specially formulated and scientifically and clinically and theoritically and practically proven drink to ease all his latic acid and dehydration. End up, i had to lick all my sweat that's dripping down from my forehead and hand. No choice.
I got no powergel, gatorade, isotonic drink or electrolytes or magnesium, sodium and potassium to ease my cramp. By the start of 3rd leg, my left calf is beginning to feel the cramp. What to do? I have to perform my exceptionally soothing massaging skills on my calf while cycling. Difficult right? That's why my speed drop to 28km/h! Slow la. Manage to hit avg of 30km/h, some where there.
Teekay came back by bout 12 to 13mins.

End up we're still not fast enough. But this race has bring some insights to me and my friends. Good race but will be better.

Next up. City Duathlon and Tribob Triathlon.

2 Years of Ups, Downs, Laughter, Demoralising moments and enriching life

Just in case i suffer from alzheimer disease, amnesia or memory loss, i guess i had better pen down on the 2 years of life changing experience so that i could still tell the story to my grandchildren in future.

7th July 06 was the day when i shaved my head and transit into a Recruit at SOTAC.

Since then, i had looked back but never took a step back. Its a path that's so rough, full of obstacle and of course, flat and scenic.

It had been such a wonderful experience till the moment when i said no to leader course. Life change. Superiors thought i wanted a easy way out without hearing my explanation. Which also means that they are just superficial towards my action. Thus i see no point in explaining as well. I knew in my heart that i had not taken the easy way out.

Was in the X country running team. Trained hard but only to receive the news that we will not be able to participate. Alternatively they send us for Stan Chart Marathon 2006 which was not what we had been training for. For most of us it was a maiden run, therefore timing ain't that important. It better my timing a year ago by approx. 15mins.

Going for airborne course. By far was one of the best and easy course. All in all clocked 9 jumps with 1 foreign jump. It was an experience that no words could describe.

Brunei was one of the most memorable training ever. Saw true colours of myself and others, tested my limits and endurance, forming new bonds and friendship.

Swamp Topo - Shag to the max. 7hrs + to complete a route of 2km on map. Seeing first hand what heat stroke is really like. Suffering! Drop the most precious thing, 1.5l water, halfway during the topo. All my efforts to ration the water had been wasted. Grabbing on thorn branches, scratched by thorns, heat and thirst.

Gave all my pocari to cheese. But its alright, i had never regret helping you.

Taiwan was extremely fun. No communication barrier, cheap, nice food and great shopping venue. The only regret is not bringing more money! ORD company really don't give much damn about all those mission and push most of the job to the juniors. I was the junior at that point of time and i told myself i'm not gonna be like them when i reach their stage. I'm glad i lived up to my own expectation.

72km route march.

-I had never ever believe or even imagine to daydream that there would be someone who could fall asleep when he or she is walking. It was until when i did it myself that i truly experience it.
It took us 23 hours to complete the sickening 72km route march. Breaking point reach at around 50 odd km. Where all the blisters, abrasions, fatigue and every negative image that you can think of are beginning to form.
Nonetheless we finish the march, smelly and worn out.

-The best feeling? Donning the red beret. The down side? All the kick ass mission and exercise are waiting for us.

NDP Rappelling

-Burning out weekdays, and saturdays rehearsing for the inverted rapelling from sheares bridge. Just when we are near to perfection, fireworks set off the same time as we rappel down. As such, the fireworks form a curtain and thus, no one could see us rappeling down! The fireworks wasn't meant for us if you watched the rehearsal.
-Effort wasted, gained experience and skill.

Chandrapura.

-Bilateral training with kopassus.

-Best memorable experience ever. Eye opening experience and culture. Did a jump over there, much higher than what i had in singapore. Extremely soft landing. The only bad memory is all the logistics. Takes forever man.

Falcon.

-Mentally and physically taxed! Everything are being tested. Knowledge, endurance, mental, physical. It only makes us stronger.
-The only defining moment is walking with a limp for more than 10km and fight on. Cant reveal much though. I don't wanna be tailed by MP.

Thailand.

-This is atec. Moment everyone's been waiting for. Hot and humid. Drinking more than 6 litres per day and counting.
-Mixed of everything. Walked till i fell asleep. Run out of water for more than 4 hours under scorching sun. Solution? I sucked all the morning dews on the tip of the grass. The sun is so hot that even our bed frame are heated up. Swear!

For now, its gonna be our ORD parade.

That's it.

Now my life is gonna be back to studies, running, cycling, swimming, rock climbing, trekking, chilling with friends and working.

The only easy day was yesterday
The only tough day was also yesterday,

How do you see it? 1/2 filled of 1/2 empty???????

I dunno what to put as title

Life is about risk, about agenda, about balance. It's about teeing the ball up high and hitting it hard while trying not to lose control. And if you shank it, then go and find your ball and try it again. Because the way you live your life, the perspective you select, is a choice you make every single day when you wake up. Its yours to decide.

Time is so limited. So why not you wake up every morning fresh and knowing that you have just one chance to live this particular day right and string your days together into a life of action and purpose.

That would be life, life after victories, losses, happiness, sadness

What it teaches me is: Pain is temporary, quitting lasts forever.

So sometimes in life, its inevitable that we fall down hard into a pit-hole or a dead man's hole. But whatever it is, after you climbed out, you look back and will realise that you are not the only one who fell inside.

Demoralise it may be, but humans learn from failure. We will never grow up if we never fail. So just be brave and fight like hell. If you are defeated just once in your life which makes you feel like giving up, just think of Thomas Edison, who failed umpteenth times before he succeeded inventing the light bulb.

The more people underestimated you, just welcome it with arms wide open. And you know why? Because if none of them think you can, all the more you should prove them wrong and that would jolly well shut them up. So why not just take it as a motivating factor and not to feel depress or devastated over it, because it will never change their point of opinion if you continue to behave so.

Well well

So many days passed by with a series of events that has kept me in suspense for so long..

Its the best birthday celebration by far i would say, not forgetting the tremendous amount of effort she put in to make everything happen despite the fact that she needa prepare for exams. Strings of surprises keep coming, though i sort of expected some of it. Cos i smart ma, can see what's she up to. Ha. Nonetheless, i gratefully appreciated all the things you have done for me and of cos the presence of my friends. ;)
Alright, i know due to the celebration, you burned a big hole in your pocket. Hmmm, just too bad my girl. Suck thumb lor. Ha. Jk la.

On a side note, was supposedly drafted into the x country team but event cancelled due to training exercises by the regular force. And since we had already covered close to 120km of mileage so far, we just decided to go for the Standard Chartered Marathon this year. Up and running again for my second marathon this time, with mixed feelings regarding the run and trainings leading to the run. What's more? Its fully paid for by Commando. More reason to train hard isn't it? But needa meet the 4.5hrs timing.

Sad thing is, i spent $60 odd for a bottle of glucosamine. Sharx. No choice cos the pain in both knees and left ankles are killing me for past 1 week or so. I just hope it recovers before marathon. I dun wanna run with the pain throughout the 42km.

My bro was back from thailand with hell lots of stuff which is damn worth it and of cos, of much use that is.

Monday to Friday training at Macritchie. Damn the travelling. Its far. 9am. Get my ass out of the bed hopefully.

Good luck for your exams pat.

A brief history of the bikini

Sixty years ago this week, the world's first bikini made its debut at a poolside fashion show in Paris. The swimsuit is now so ubiquitous—and, when compared with, say, the sight of Britney's pregnant, naked haunches on the cover of Bazaar, so demure—it's hard to comprehend how shocking people once found it.
When the bikini first arrived, its revealing cut scandalized even the French fashion models who were supposed to wear it; they refused, and the original designer had to enlist a stripper instead. The bikini then slowly gained acceptance—first on the Riviera, then in the United States—and became a beachfront staple.

On a side note, from lip-sync videos to $1.65 billion in 14 months, Google had bought YouTube for an absurd-sounding $1.65billion. YouTube's rise from indie Web site to the Internet's top TV channel—it now streams 100 million videos per day—happened so fast that only the most obsessive surfers have followed its entire arc.

Back to life, 26th October, a day after my birthday, will be the next jump date. Guess we'll be jumping this time round. Haze condition seems to be improving with a series of rains and change of wind directions. Besides that, its PT, sai kang, sleep, eat and slacking in camp till 20th Nov. Time to train up now.

Anyway, come to think of it, we are fortunate to be alive and living in this beautiful world isn't it? Being alive give us a chance to help others who needs that helping hand. C'mon, be generous and lends others a hand. Help for the sake of helping and not for a reward. Eventually you'll feel good and relieve at the end of the day. Be good to those who are good to you and be good to those who are bad to you too, in order to change them into a better person.
In that way, this world will be a better place for us to live in, don't you agree?

Airborne

Today is Friday 13th. Unlucky day. Doing Sai Kang throughout the day. hell fun yeah.

Also marks the end airborne course, but yet to jump! 19th will be our first jump at Paya Lebar Air Base. Please pray for me guys. You dun wan anything to happen to such a nice guy..Ermm, i didnt say its me did i?

Airborne course was fun. Always arrowed by my instructor. Have to be me huh? Fun aside, injuries are my best friends now. Shin Splint and knees. Come come all are welcome! All coming from my left leg. Seems to be kinda useless man. Cant run at the *lightning* speed i used to in the past man. No worries. Haste makes waste. Slow and steady.

As for now, everyday will definitely be some sai kang work for us to do till our course commence. Sigh.

And no more delicious-finger-licking-steaming-ask-for-second-round food. How can that be happening!!!

Food and Pat?

Post BMT

Woot! No more recruit.

Airborne course commence this Friday! What's more, its 8 - 5. Meaning nights out and more free time! Yeah. And time to train up for races? Depends, cos i'm sure injuries will find its way to me after those practice jumps that impose a huge impact on my joints.

Now its time to save up money for my Post NS activities. Ok let's see. Backpacking, holidays and finally back to studies. Approx $2.5k for all the trips! Hmmmm...

For now, its jungle hat, no more jockey cap and helmet!

Push on for the Red Beret!
